
The Gulder Ultimate Search 8 Champions, who recently toured Edo State, were treated to a warm reception at the Revelation Tourist Palazzo. The Revelation Tourist Palazzo, founded by Nigerian highlife musical maestro, Sir Victor Uwaifo, is a tourist resort which houses sculptural works, paintings and other artworks of the musical legend.
The 10 Champions of Gulder Ultimate Search 8 who visited Sir Uwaifo were: Christopher Okagbue, Anastasia Azike, Kevin Durst, Anthony Igwe, Tony Horsfall, Fejiro Ejogbamu, Peace Ojiegbe, Sunday Gyang, Olanrewaju Alawoki and Patience Ihongbe. The 10 Champions were also accompanied by Mr. Bob Manuel Udokwu, the show’s co-anchor. They were received at the Palazzo by Sir Uwaifo himself, who thanked the contingent for taking out time to pay him a visit.
It promises to be a night of fun and glamour as Nigerian Breweries Plc. Nigeria’s biggest brewer, hosts its distributors and transporters to a lavish award ceremony on Friday, February 24, 2012.
The event, with the theme ‘Winning Together’, will see over 100 awards doled out to key distributors, transporters and other trade partners of the company at the Zinnia Hall, Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos.
Speaking on the event, Mr. Hubert Eze, Sales Director, Nigerian Breweries Plc., stated that the ceremony was conceived to recognize and reward the excellent performance of the company’s distributors for the year 2011.
He added that the awards would also provide an opportunity to evaluate the previous year’s business performance, as well as communicate new business strategy to distributors.
The awards categories include: National Volume Champion and Region Volume Champions, amongst others. Prizes to be carted home by the lucky customers will include: Mitsubishi Canter trucks, Mitsubishi L200; Forklifts, Generating Sets, cash rewards and several free cartons of Nigerian Breweries Products.

In keeping with the tradition of providing a platform for aspiring music talents to display their skills, the 2012 edition of Star Quest, Nigeria’s first and only band based music talent hunt competition/reality TV show, is set to kick on February 21.
Speaking during a press conference to officially announce the kick off of Star Quest, Yusuf Ageni, Corporate Affairs Adviser, Nigerian Breweries Plc, makers of Premium Lager Beer, Star, stated that this year’s edition will be more exciting and engaging compared to previous editions.
According to Ageni, contestants from all over the country will be given the opportunity to become the next stars in the Nigerian music scene and win a coveted recording contract, among other attractive prizes.

Esso Exploration and Production Nigeria Limited (EEPNL), a subsidiary of ExxonMobil has begun the training of 25 Nigerian lecturers on map making and interpretation, under the University Partnering Programme (UPP).
UPP is aimed at funding geological field programmes in selected Nigerian universities as a means of enhancing the quality of locally-trained geosciences graduates. In addition, it seeks to improve the skills of those making and interpreting maps and also contribute to the production of high quality geological maps in the country.

The programme which is tagged “Train - the - Trainer Field Mapping Workshop” commenced on Tuesday, February 07, 2012 and is scheduled to run till Sunday, February 12, 2012 at Auchi in Edo state. The programme is designed to expose the participating University lecturers to the current and best practices in geological field mapping and interpretation.
